Hanging out at Ma and Pa's
Well, we got talked into letting mom sneek away with Savannah after her visit to our house this past week, and I must say...I miss me some Savannah terribly. Way too quiet around this place now. This will be the longest that we've been apart from Savannah, seeing that it will be a week and a half before we are able to get down to Arkansas for the family reunion. I'm sure she doesn't even notice yet that Mom and Dad haven't been around much lately. She's too preoccupied with cows and cats, four-wheelers and golf carts, Ma and Pa, and Aunts galore. With all that to contend with, I don't know how we'll ever get her in the car to come back home next week!

Savannah Mary
This little girl is so photogenic, even on bad hair days, and I think she has even become accustomed to the camera--she should be since we take so many pictures all the time. I know I'm biased, but it's my blog and I can proclaim her the cutest little girl in the world if I so desire. I like this picture cause it looks like the wind is blowing her hair, but it isn't--nope, just classic bed head. I'm going to post another slide show of pictures above that are from a fun little day that we had only a couple days before Gavin decided to pop out. It was a Wednesday, and you can see why I love getting off early at 1:00 on Wednesday. It's a wonderful little break in the middle of my crazy week.

a.k.a. "Goose"
When we moved into the house last year, Savannah was only about 7 months old. We were seeing lots of turkeys out in the yard at that time and she was really intrigued by them. Somehow, I began calling Savannah "little turkey" as a nickname. So now, I have a new name for Gavin that was inspired by the onesie I bought him...."Goose".

Go ahead, think it through...I'll give you two hints: 80's movie, and Danger Zone. First one to guess where the name is from wins a big hoorah and round of applause from me when I read it.
Growing up fast

Well, I have heard many people say that when the second child comes along, the first one will suddenly seem so much bigger and grown up than you ever thought they were. It seems as though Savannah has really grown over night. I don't know if it's just the vying for attention, but this child has suddenly become amazing vocal and rambunctious. No longer is just sitting on the living room floor with some of her toys enough to keep her occupied. We are now into anything and everything, and all at the same time. She is more than willing to jump right into the middle of anything we are doing, even if it's cleaning the house. And talking...oh man. Words are popping out of her every other minute that I never imagined she could say. Many times she just repeats whatever we have said (with amazing clarity I might add), but many times she just breaks out with some phrase we've never even taught her. For instance, the other day, Tarah and I awoke in the morning to the words "Momma, where are you?", which she then repeated with "Daddy, where are you?" One her new favorite phrases I know she picked up from our play times is, "I got you". Savannah is also loving her new role as big sis. She seems so mature whenever she gets around Gavin. She loves to hold him in her lap, and she loves to give him kisses. I'll try to post some more pics in a little while. I must say that it is true. The first child does grow up fast when the new one comes along.

Just noticed this...
Look at our little family picture to the right-->
Does Savannah resemble any other little person in the Landes Family? Like maybe someone whose initials are I.D.L.

AND now--Month 9!

It's hard to tell that she's grown much from the last month. But, it was all the same with Savannah as well, so we haven't really worried any about it. Doc did have us do an ultrasound this week, though, just to check on the size of the baby, and he was pleased. They guess-timated the size of the baby at 6 1/2 pounds. Savannah was 6 lb 2 oz. You're looking good, babe.
My Wife--8 Months Pregnant
I know I've been gone from the blogging world for a while, but this is definitely something worthy of getting back into the saddle again. I want to share with you some pics of my wife, who is the most gorgeous woman I've ever known---AND, the best looking pregnant woman ever :). And yes, I do realize that she is extremely blessed because pregnancy doesn't treat every lady so nicely. We thank the Lord every day for the ease of her pregnancy. Here she is at 8 months.
